Slovak law limits citizenship by descent to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the emigrant. Great-great-grandchildren and further descendants are not eligible to apply through this route.
If you are not present on this family tree as a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of the Slovak emigrant, you cannot claim citizenship by descent.
If you are ineligible for direct citizenship, you may be interested in the Certificate of a Slovak Living Abroad. This certificate grants certain benefits (such as residency and work rights in Slovakia) but does not confer citizenship.

âš Important: This tool is designed for US-based vital records. Marriage certificates issued in foreign countries follow different rules, processes, and cost structures.
To obtain a foreign marriage certificate, contact the vital records office or civil registry in the country where the marriage took place. Fees, required documentation, processing times, and authentication requirements vary widely by country.
Depending on your citizenship claim, you may also need to have the foreign certificate authenticated or apostilled. Check with the relevant embassy or consulate for specific requirements.
